Refund Policy

Version 2.2 · Effective 2026-05-09

Effective Date: May 9, 2026 Last Updated: May 9, 2026 Version: 2.2

This Refund Policy is part of, and is incorporated by reference into, the Terms of Service of Digent LLC d/b/a Project College ("Digent," "Digent LLC," "we," "us," or "our"). Capitalized terms not defined here have the meanings given in the Terms of Service.

1. The Bargain

A Per-Student License is a one-time, non-recurring purchase that grants access to the paid features of Project College for one named student. The regular price is $399.00 USD. Through December 31, 2026, the price for families joining as Founding Members is $249.00 USD. The price you actually paid is shown on your purchase confirmation and on your account receipt; refund amounts under Section 2 below are based on that figure, not the regular price. There is no subscription, no auto-renewal, and no monthly charge to cancel.

2. 14-Day Money-Back Guarantee for Unused Licenses

Important checkout-time disclosure. The 14-day money-back guarantee applies only if the License is Unused as defined below. The "Unused" test is strict: any of the actions listed below — including loading more than five (5) parent-portal pages or five (5) student-portal pages while logged in — disqualifies the License from the 14-day refund track. Read this list carefully before you log in. If you want to evaluate Project College without affecting your refund eligibility, do so on the public, non-authenticated pages of projectcollege.ai before you create an account or log in.

Within fourteen (14) days of the date of purchase, we will refund the full purchase price of a Per-Student License if the License is Unused.

"Unused" means ALL of the following are true at the time of the refund request:

  • No financial-aid letter has been parsed or uploaded under the License;
  • No college-application essay has been submitted to AI essay review under the License;
  • No chancing scattergram or admission-probability calculation has been run for the named student under the License;
  • The match engine has not been recomputed for the named student beyond any unauthenticated, public preview;
  • No AP or SAT practice question has been answered under the named student's profile;
  • Fewer than five (5) authenticated parent-portal pages or five (5) authenticated student-portal pages have been loaded under the account;
  • No share card has been generated for the named student;
  • No survey-program enrollment has occurred (when and if the Survey Program becomes available); and
  • The Per-Student License has not been transferred, attempted to be transferred, or otherwise removed from the account.

If any of the above is no longer true, the License is considered Used, the 14-day guarantee no longer applies, and refund eligibility is governed by Section 3.

3. Refunds After Use

After a Per-Student License is Used (as defined in Section 2), refunds are granted only at our sole discretion, evaluated on a case-by-case basis. There is no automatic refund right. There are no partial refunds for partial use of the License.

We may, but are not obligated to, grant a partial or full post-Use refund where:

  • The Service was demonstrably unavailable to the License holder for more than seventy-two (72) consecutive hours and we were unable to restore access;
  • A duplicate purchase was made (e.g., the same parent charged twice for the same Per-Student License within the same calendar week);
  • A material defect specific to the named student's profile prevented a substantial feature (the match engine, the chancing calculator, or the financial projections) from running, and the defect was not resolved within seven (7) business days of a written report to [email protected];
  • We are required to issue the refund by applicable law or by a card network's chargeback rule.

We will not grant a post-Use refund based on:

  • Dissatisfaction with a match score, chancing percentage, financial projection, ROI estimate, AP/SAT practice score, or AI essay-feedback output;
  • A college admission decision, scholarship decision, aid offer, or any other outcome from a third-party institution;
  • A change in a student's interests, target schools, or family circumstances;
  • A change in price, feature set, or feature-flag state of the Services, except where we have discontinued a substantial paid feature on which you specifically relied at purchase and which has not been replaced with materially equivalent functionality, in which case Section 16.1 of the Terms of Service applies and a pro-rated refund may be available at our discretion;
  • Any matter outside the reasonable control of Digent LLC.

4. How to Request a Refund

Email [email protected] with:

  1. Subject line: "Refund Request — [Order ID]"
  2. The email address on your account
  3. The order ID or last four digits of the card used (and the card brand)
  4. A short statement of the reason for the request

We respond within five (5) business days. If we approve a refund, it is returned to the original payment method and typically appears within five (5) to ten (10) business days, depending on your card issuer or, where Lemon Squeezy is the merchant of record, on Lemon Squeezy's processing schedule.

5. Chargebacks and Disputes

Initiating a chargeback or processor dispute without first contacting us in good faith and giving us a reasonable opportunity to resolve the issue is a violation of Section 5(n) of the Terms of Service. We respond to chargebacks with documentation of purchase, license-grant records, usage logs, screenshots, and these Terms.

Where you initiate a chargeback before contacting us, we may, subject to applicable card-network rules and applicable law: (a) suspend or terminate your account and revoke the Per-Student License only after the chargeback is resolved; (b) submit our standard documentation in defense of the dispute (purchase record, license-grant logs, usage history, these Terms); (c) withhold any additional goodwill credit beyond what is required by these Terms or applicable law; and (d) recover any chargeback fees actually imposed on us where permitted by law and the card-network rules. Initiating a chargeback does not, by itself, disqualify you from any refund right you would otherwise have under this Refund Policy or applicable law, and does not waive any right to access the Services that you have lawfully purchased and not consumed.

Resolving a refund issue directly with us at [email protected] is faster and more flexible than the chargeback process.

6. License Status After a Refund

When we issue a refund of a Per-Student License, the License is automatically revoked, the named student's paid features are disabled, and we may delete or anonymize associated student profile data subject to the Privacy Policy. You may not continue to use, re-claim, or transfer a refunded License.

7. Currency and Taxes

All refunds are in U.S. dollars. Where a tax was collected at checkout (for example, by Lemon Squeezy as merchant of record), the tax is refunded to the same payment method as the principal, subject to any timing restrictions imposed by the tax-collecting party.

8. Modifications

We may modify this Refund Policy from time to time. Material changes will be communicated by email to the address on your account or by a conspicuous in-product notice at least thirty (30) days before the effective date. Non-material changes take effect when posted. Refund requests are governed by the Refund Policy in effect on the date of purchase or, where more favorable to you, the date the request is filed.
