AI Providers

Project College uses third-party AI model providers to power optional features (AI essay feedback, public-data enrichment, parser assistance). This page lists every AI provider currently in production. We update this page within 30 days of any addition or removal, per Terms § 6.3(a).
Current AI providers in production
Anthropic, PBC
- Models: Claude (Sonnet / Haiku family)
- Use: AI essay feedback (when the "essay_review" feature flag is enabled), public-school-data enrichment, internal extraction tasks
- Data sent: draft essay text + a quality prompt (essay feedback); public-data queries containing no personal information; aid-letter text with personal identifiers (SSN, Tax-ID, account numbers, driver's-license numbers) redacted before transmission
- No-training commitment: Anthropic's standard commercial API terms prohibit training on customer inputs and outputs by default. Project College does not authorize Anthropic to train on customer data on a non-customer basis.

What we don't do
- We do not use your submitted content to train any AI model.
- We do not authorize any AI provider we use to train on our customer data on a non-customer basis.
- We do not retain raw model inputs or outputs longer than necessary to deliver the feature you requested.
- We do not send raw aid-letter image or PDF files to an AI provider; we extract text first and redact identifiers.
Changes
A change in AI provider is a non-material amendment to our Terms unless the change materially expands the data shared with the new provider, in which case we will communicate the change under Terms § 16.2. Questions: [email protected].
